11/10/2023 0 Comments Safari app extension![]() Installation proved to be a complete quagmire, that some have already described above. The manner of introduction to this new requirement was brutal, it would not let me continue with urgent work until the installation was complete. My Mac Pro is running High Sierra 10.13.6. ![]() ![]() Sorry I cannot offer the much needed Step by Step guide to overcome this problem although this is now fully functional for me. I love LastPass, but I'm hopelessly confused about what I'm supposed to do to comply to your update wishes, and still have LP working. Which version am I supposed to download, and use, on Sierra? Why is the version linked to on the blog different from the version in the extensions gallery? Why are you nagging me to update and linking to an older version? Should I just wait for some days/weeks and be nagged at to update, and keep trying again in the hope that one day it won't be broken and I can use LastPass, and if not, restore the old version? If you're going to be so forceful about updating, can you please make sure the new version is tested and actually works across a range of target systems? The new version doesn't work at all here, so I'm forced to use the old version, with constant "you must update" reminders every time I use LP.Īfter a few tries going around between versions I've managed to get the 4.3.0 app finally working and displaying window contents (this is the 4.3.0 version installed from the Extensions gallery, not the version from the blog post above, which seems to be different, and is 4.24), but Safari still has the old extension installed (and thus nags me to update), because if I update to the newer proper extension, again, it renders LP unusable with a white blank popup window. I've tried the whole procedure about three times, with the same results each time. I managed to revert to the older version, but again, every time I log in, I get rudely redirected to the blog post, and now have a massive panel in the extension telling me to update. (Ye, I'm an admin and can log into to my local items keychain just fine.) Ok, I get it, you want me to update, so I go do the steps to install this new version (Mac Sierra here), and every time it just results in an app that displays blank white windows, unfinished menu items (eg "Hide macapp"), and a LastPass extension that also just displays a blank white window in the browser, rendering the whole system unusable. So every time I've logged in to LP recently, I get redirected to this blog post:
